Counselling & Psychotherapy
There are times in life when we can feel overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from ourselves. You may be facing a particular difficulty, navigating a life transition, struggling with the impact of past experiences, or simply sensing that there is a deeper part of you seeking attention and expression.
Whatever brings you here, therapy offers a safe, confidential and compassionate space in which to explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences and inner world at your own pace.
I believe that many of the difficulties we experience are not simply problems to be fixed, but invitations to greater understanding, healing and growth. Symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties or a sense of dissatisfaction can often point towards unmet needs, unresolved experiences or aspects of ourselves that have been forgotten, silenced or pushed aside.
My approach is integrative, relational and trauma-informed. Drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, I tailor our work to your individual needs, creating a space where you can feel heard, supported and understood. Alongside exploring difficulties, therapy can also help you reconnect with your inner resources, values and a deeper sense of who you are.
At the heart of my work is a transpersonal perspective, which recognises that healing involves more than symptom reduction. As well as addressing emotional and psychological difficulties, therapy can be a journey towards greater meaning, wholeness and connection with your essential self. While some clients come with an explicit interest in spirituality, many simply find themselves longing for a more authentic and fulfilling way of being in the world.
Whether you are seeking support through a period of crisis, processing past experiences, exploring patterns that no longer serve you, or searching for greater meaning and purpose in life, therapy can offer an opportunity for healing, self-discovery and lasting change.
You might come carrying anxiety, grief, the weight of a difficult relationship, or the burden of trauma. But underneath that, what usually brings you is a deeper longing to understand yourself more fully, to live more authentically, to reconnect with a part of yourself that feels just out of reach. Many of the people I work with are drawn to the spiritual, and are looking for somewhere the psychological and the spiritual can finally be held together, rather than kept in separate rooms.
Much of my work is with people who are curious. Often you'll have already begun some kind of inner work. Maybe you've had therapy before, perhaps you are a therapist yourself or in training and maybe you developed a spiritual practice of your own. And yet you sense there's another layer still waiting to be explored.
Areas I Commonly Work With
I have over twenty years' experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Some of the areas I commonly work with include:
• Anxiety and stress
• Depression and low mood, including postnatal depression
• Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
• Relationship difficulties
• Narcissistic abuse and recovery
• Loss, grief and bereavement
• Self-esteem and confidence
• Pregnancy, miscarriage and abortion
• Parenting and family challenges
• Menopause and life transitions
• Chronic illness and health-related concerns
• Addiction and compulsive behaviours
• Career change and questions of purpose
• Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD)
• Neurodiversity
• Spiritual exploration and personal growth
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek support because they want to understand themselves more deeply, improve their relationships, navigate change, or reconnect with a greater sense of meaning, authenticity and wellbeing.
Taking the First Step
Finding the right therapist is important. I offer an initial consultation where we can explore what is bringing you to therapy, discuss your needs and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If you would like to arrange an initial conversation, I would be pleased to hear from you.
